Tea N Biscuits — Matcha Biscuits
As we finish January, 2019 I am convinced it is appropriate that January should be Hot Tea Month with all the cold, damp, snowy, freezing weather. (Especially since most of the country (USA) is in — what the media is calling — a Polar Vortex.) During these times the body reaches for all that will keep it warm and what better to do the warming than from the inside out with a cuppa hot tea.
Although we are not in the frigid northeast this winter, January still brings thoughts of wanting to be warmer. My tea desires turn to traditional black tea; particularly an English breakfast tea with the added comfort of milk. My search for the perfect “January comfort tea” took me to the International Marketplace where I knew there would be a great selection of tea and biscuits from Great Britain.
Much to my surprise I found some lovely matcha biscuits from, I am thinking, Japan. Yes, origination confirmed—definitely, Japan. They are as light as air, dissolve in your mouth with a creamy matcha smoothness. These could quickly become my favorite accompaniment to a cuppa tea. (As the matcha filled Joe-Joe’s from Trader Joe’s are seasonal.) I am always on the search for different ways to consume matcha: biscuits, Kit-Kats, cookies, smoothies, lattes (especially frozen), and pastry just to name a few.
Time to warm the soul with a cuppa,
