Chapeaux Galore
Influenced by National Hat Day (January 15) and having recently attended the Lady Gaga Jazz & Piano show in Las Vegas, I am inspired to reflect on some of my favorite chapeaux. I would be amiss if I didn’t give credit where credit is due for the fabulous designs of my favorites — Eric Javitts, Louise Greene, Christine A. Moore, and Grevi — just naming a few off the top of my head.
In my opinion, the wearing of a hat sets one apart from the crowd and adds the finishing touch to what you are wearing. I may not always have the latest fashion trend but my chapeau will always compliment my outfit of the day.
Passing a word of appreciation to all those chapeau wearers that have influenced today’s fashion — Audrey Hepburn, Dorothy Parker, Jackie Kennedy, Coco Channel, Lillian Gish, Diane Keaton, and of course all the Royals from the Queen to the Duchesses — I say “Thank you.”
“Do not wait too long to muster your courage. Put a smile on your face, a hat on your head, and “walk into a room as if you own the place” (Skirt Magazine)”
